How Much Does an Oklahoma Contractor License Bond Cost?
In Oklahoma, the cost of a contractor license bond ranges from $100 to $5,000. There are numerous bond requirements for different types of contractors at the state and local levels. Bond amounts required range from $1,000 to $50,000.
Instead of paying the full bond amount, license applicants can purchase a bond through a surety company. The bond premium for a contractor license typically ranges from 1% to 10% of the total bond amount, depending on the applicant’s business financials, experience, personal assets, and credit scores.
A 700 or higher credit score qualifies for a 1% to 3% premium rate. A 600 to 699 credit score qualifies for a rate of 3% to 5%. A premium rate of 5% to 10% is available for credit scores below 599.
