How Much Does an Idaho Contractor License Bond Cost?
The cost of an Idaho contractor license bond starts at $100. While statewide licensing and bond requirements apply to plumbers, HVAC contractors, fire sprinkler fitters, farm labor contractors, and sewage system contractors, other contractor types are licensed at the city or county level.
However, you are not required to pay the full bond amount. By purchasing your Idaho contractor license bond from an authorized surety company, you can pay a premium amount for the required bond.
The premium rate ranges from 1% to 10%. The specific rate that you are responsible for is dependent on your credit score as well as your financial strength and business experience.
With a credit score of 700 or better, the rate is from 1% to 3%. With a credit score of 600 to 699, the range is from 3% to 5%. If you have a credit score of 599 or lower, your rate will range from 5% to 10% of the required bond amount.
