Public Adjuster Bond Requirements in Georgia

Chapter 120-2 of the Rules and Regulations of the State of Georgia mandates licensing requirements for public adjusters. To obtain a license, an applicant must have a $5,000 surety bond. The obligee for the public adjuster bond is the Commissioner of Insurance.

The bond term is continuous and remains active until canceled. To cancel the surety bond, the surety company must submit a 60-day written notice to the Commissioner of Insurance via registered mail.

The public adjuster license will be revoked if the bond is not maintained. In addition, the bond must be maintained for five years following the license termination. To assist you with bond maintenance, we will contact you each year with bond premium payment and renewal instructions.

The Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire is the authority for public adjuster licensing in Georgia. To apply for a license, you must submit the following items:
