How Much Does a California Talent Agency Bond Cost?
The cost of a California talent agency bond is between $500 and $5,000. The state requires talent agencies to hold a $50,000 surety bond. You can meet this legal requirement by purchasing your new bond for a bond premium from an authorized surety company.
Our surety company is authorized to sell bonds in California, and we have served the state’s needs for more than 10 years. Rather than paying the full penal sum of the bond, you will pay a bond rate between 1% and 10% of the bond amount.
Our bond rates are determined by a review of your professional credentials, credit rating and financial assets. We work with applicants with most credit scores and issue bonds to more than 99% of our valued customers.
If you apply for a California talent agency bond with a 700 or higher credit score, you will qualify for a 1% to 3% rate. With this score, your bond cost is between $500 and $1,500.

Talent Agency Bond Requirements in California
Under California Labor Code Section 1700.15, the state establishes surety bond requirements for talent agencies as a condition for licensing. The purpose of the bond is to compensate claimants with valid claims for unlawful acts and omissions, deceit, fraud, misrepresentation and misstatement.
The required bond amount is $50,000. The obligee for a talent agency bond is the People of the State of California. The bond is continuous and does not need to be renewed, but it may be canceled by the surety company. The talent agency must have a bond in place to remain licensed.
To avoid cancellation, you must pay the bond premium annually. To assist you with maintaining your bond, we will get in touch with you each year with updated bond premium payment instructions.
