Dealer Marketing has published an article aiming to make it easier for auto dealers to communicate with potential car shoppers on Twitter. This way you can not only find out insider information about their habits and preferences, but you can find loyal clients as well.

The author suggest doing a quick local search in order to locate people near your dealership and then you can “ask what type of car they’re considering, share a special offer, or provide a bit of research on different models.”

Keep in mind that in a social media like Twitter, you language should not be overly aggressive or promotional. Another thing to consider is making your conversation personal. Today’s social media users “can see right through template responses.”

A final piece of advice is not to overstay your welcome. If you feel like you are not wanted in a conversation, discontinue posting there or you might achieve the opposite results.
