Here’s Why More Dealerships Should Invest in Solar Panels

In an interview for Automotive News, New Jersey-based Honda dealer Ron Rossi speaks of the financial and environmental benefits of adding solar panels to your dealership.

For starters, Mr. Rossi points out that to attract customers, a car dealer must go beyond what everybody else has to offer. Thanks to his 900+ solar panels, which also act as overhead protection to his cars, he offers his customers to charge their electric vehicles for free.

Ron Rossi’s passion for energy efficiency started during the oil crisis of the 70s while he was working in his family’s supermarket. Since then, he has implemented energy efficient methods to all of his ventures.

Currently, Mr. Rossi’s dealership is entirely grid-neutral. Actually, he makes more power than he consumes, so he sells the excess. If his estimates are correct, by the the end of their life cycle, the solar panels can bring a $2 million return on investment.
